June 2018 saw our first 2 students be selected to receive the Scholarship at Manchester University.
We have met the students a few times throughout the last year and found it very rewarding that the scholarship can make such a large difference to someone's future. After successfully completing their first year, we will continue to monitor their progress over the remainder of their course.
The time has now come to select the next students to receive the Scholarship for 2019 bringing the total to 4 students.
Over the next few weeks we will be working closely with Manchester University to select the recipients for 2019. The University have already identified a shortlist through the Widening Participation Initiative
The scholarships provide financial support for undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who might otherwise be unable to undertake or complete a degree course.
The Foundation is now on course to support 6 students per year on a rolling programme basis, and ensure Matthew’s legacy will provide talented and deserving young people with the opportunity to maximise their potential.
